Rlung rta is a Tibetan term that translates to "wind horse". It refers to a mythical creature that symbolizes the inner wind or air of the body, and is also associated with aspects of the Buddhist path. Rlung rta is also the name of a Tibetan prayer flag, commonly known as a Lungta darchog, which translates to "air-horse flag". The purpose of rlung rta prayer flags is to strengthen one's inner windhorse energy, and to guide others towards happiness and well-being. Some people put their flags in holy places, while others bring them to areas where Dharma is not yet established.
